The Town of Rolesville continues to work to complete work at the intersection of Main & Young Streets.
See below for highlights:
- Storm drainage installation on North Main Street and Williams Street is underway. Work is expected to take a couple of weeks.
- We’ve collaborated with the City of Raleigh Utilities to refine a plan for the waterline work. We’ve reached an agreement with them on a plan that would reduce the time of the work by three to four weeks. The change order process is nearly complete. The final step is NCDOT approval for those items.
- According to NCDEQ, no additional cleanup of the contaminated soil is needed. The storm drainage work can move forward as planned through the remediated area. However, further cleanup might still be necessary depending on what Enbridge/Dominion requires for their gas line construction. They will be on-site in the coming days.
Once the work at Main & Young Streets is complete, the intersection will have new stormwater drainage to prevent flooding, new water lines to better serve residents and business owners, and new sidewalks and pedestrian walkways to keep everyone safe. This project is a $23 million investment in the future of Rolesville’s downtown, creating a safer, walkable, more successful, and more attractive Main Street for residents, businesses, and visitors.
