Water Line Replacements

Fred Smith Company will be working on water line replacements at the Main and Young intersection which may cause disruptions, in the upcoming weeks, for those in the intersection.  The first disruptions are expected the week of 8/26/2024 with those businesses already being alerted. These disruptions will not take all day but will happen between the hours provided to you by the contractor. Additional disruptions will happen depending on where the water line is being replaced. If your water service will be disrupted, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice will be provided to you.

If you have any questions or concerns, please email the project at mainstreetproject@rolesville.nc.gov

Detours Update

The Town of Rolesville is aware of difficulties with the increased traffic volume on several of the Town’s streets. They are working on a way to improve the traffic, which is being rerouted to other Town streets, by the Main Street and Young Street intersection closure. An update will be provided shortly. Please be aware of all construction traffic throughout Rolesville and do not drive into the intersection closure. There is no way to continue through the closure. Please use the previously posted detour routes as the main way around town.

Important Information

Based on the original project schedule, the Young Street and Main Street intersection was scheduled to be reopened by September 15th, 2024. Unforeseen underground and aerial utility conflicts were found resulting in additional coordination needed with multiple utility owners. Click here for more information.

If you have any questions, please call the hotline number 919-326-7857 and leave a message or email the project @ mainstreetproject@rolesville.nc.gov.

Community Update

All businesses are still open during their normal business hours. Rolesville is preparing for the upcoming intersection closure and Duke Energy will be in the area for the next few weeks to install new power poles. All parking lots at the businesses are also open, but please be observant of workers, traffic, and pedestrians in this area. There is also parking available at the Rolesville Chamber of Commerce. The new parking lot currently under construction will also be available for parking in the near future. Signage will be put up when it is available for parking.

Main Street Vision Plan

Funding for the grant project was sought from CAMPO based upon a joint planning effort between CAMPO and the Town to develop the Main Street Vision Plan. This plan divides the 4-mile Main Street corridor into three areas ripe for development. The Town seeks to create a true town center by utilizing urban design practices and building a sense of place.
