With the completion of concrete medians and paving from Jonesville Road to the new Burlington Mills Road intersection Main Street is in its final configuration. Traffic on the south end of the project is in its final interim traffic pattern before completion. Focus is now shifting to the Main Street and Young Street intersection closure where a full reconstruction of the intersection will be undertaken.
The intersection will remain closed for approximately 90 calendar days to allow for the contractor Fred Smith Company, its subcontractors and other contractors including Duke and Dominion Energy crews and subcontractors to work bringing the Town’s vision to life. While this work is being performed the businesses in the area will remain open and accessible via a pedestrian walkway surrounding the work area as well as a parking lot on the NW corner of the intersection.
